Farewell, Land of Fruits and Nuts

Tonight ends my 44-day stay in Fresno, California, at the gracious hospitality of my friend and his family and his many friends and their families in the area while studying at California State University, Fresno for summer classes.

It’s been hot, for sure, running an average high temperature of high 90s(F) over the pasth month, nearly 100(F) for some weeks. And it’s been dry too, but seemingly still abundant with fields of fruit and nut trees.

I don’t really know how to summarize my stay in Fresno to be honest. It wasn’t bad in any way, for sure, but different from what I’ve experienced in the past. Maybe a bit closer to home, given the larger Caucasian population here and the suburban environment with schools, parks, and lawns. And lots of trees that don’t look half dead like in SoCal.

The people I’ve met here however, they’re the ones that made Fresno, Fresno for me. The family I’m staying with, my friend’s friends and their humor and variety of knowledge/interests.

I’m actually rather tired right now so my brain is just pooping out with sagging eyeballs. Lovely image, right?

I just finished packing my belongings.

Tomorrow, bright and early, I’ll be leaving for San Francisco for a day. Then, it’s back down to the City of Angels.
